‘My Verse, My Horse’
My verse, my horse, the two of us
Should sing until dew shines and flowers weep
My verse, my horse, the two of us
Should sing until the moon shines and slumbers on the prairie
When singing until the golden sun rises on the palm of my hand
I the poet I must have a divine voice
When galloping until my singing song spreads over this vibrant world
You my horse you must have a healthy sinew
My horse, my verse, the two of us
Carry an untold message from my people
My horse, my verse, the two of us
Bear a far-flung thought that hides in the chestnut heart
My verse of sleepless nights and tireless fatigue
Is my horse: a mind-born being with an upright throat
We should never forget the merit of Mongol people
Who did not begrudge this crystal throat from us
My horse, my verse, run faster and faster!
Long range is needed to show the horse’s sinew
Keeping in mind the message of our people
You my horse and I should reach the world arena
At the head of hundred steeds on the field of world poetry
If we’ll finish neck and neck with others,
Our people won’t complain
We may not let the mind and sinew weaken on the long run
You and I, we may not let our heads get stained with dirty dust
My verse, my horse, the two of us
Should sing until dew shines and flowers weep
My verse, my horse, the two of us
Should sing until the moon shines and slumbers on the prairie
